Impossible Instant Lab Turn iPhone Images into Real Photos

There’s something that’s missing from the Polaroid-inspired Instagram app: you don’t have the actual prints. There’s something beautiful about genuine Polaroid photography — the magical and unique piece of design that comes with every photograph. I think that’s what The Impossible Project figured out as well. In order to protect the future of instant photography, they were crazy enough to buy the last Polaroid factory, and they invented the Impossible Instant Lab to bring iPhone photos and instant photos together.

From The Impossible Project:

The Impossible Instant Lab is designed to transform any digital image via your iPhone into an instant photo that is exposed using only the light from the display, then processed and developed by chemicals. A photo that exists physically – IRL. A photo that is a one-of-a-kind original that can be shared, exhibited and preserved. A photo that no longer needs an electronic device to be seen.

The team launched a Kickstarter project only a few days ago and met their $250,000 fundraising goal in less than 30 hours. Now, they’ve decided to double their funding goal to $500,000! Do you want to back this project by pre-ordering the instant lab for $189 (retail price is $299).
