Who wouldn’t want to spend a an evening eating dinner in a treehouse restaurant? The Redwoods Treehouse, located just 45 minutes north of Auckland in New Zealand, provides that opportunity for you!
What was originally commissioned as part of a marketing campaign by the New Zealand Yellow Pages in 2008 has become a prime venue for corporate retreats. The pod-shaped treehouse restaurant was built 10 meters up a redwood tree and is accessible by a tree-top walkway. The pod itself has a 30 guest capacity – and who wouldn’t want the opportunity to dine in such a memorable architectural structure?
We just hope the catering menu is as wonderful as the architectural experience!
The structure was designed by architects Peter Eising and Lucy Gauntlett from Pacific Environments Architects and has also won several architecture awards in New Zealand. The treehouse was a finalist in the World Architecture Awards in 2009.
