The effects of Super Typhoon Haiyan was devastating to the Philippines. A minimum of 9.7 million people in the Philippines were affected by the disaster – the death toll was obscene, and tens of thousands of houses were wiped away. Organizations across the world have begun to mobilize their relief efforts for the Philippines. Sites like Tumblr and Facebook have started their own donation pages, and the UN World Food Programme is collecting donations to provide clean water and food to victims of the super storm. One of our favorite efforts is by Architecture for Humanity, who have designed a t-shirt specifically to raise awareness and funds.
Seen above is a gorgeous t-shirt graphic designed by Dan Elijah G. Fajardo for Architecture for Humanity – a special edition shirt, titled ‘The Sun Will Rise Again,’ that visualizes the hope coming out of the devastation. They have guys and girls editions of the t-shirt. You can buy this t-shirt on Threadless, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of their tee will be donated to the organization to support the continual relief efforts in the Philippines. What makes this design extra important is the background of the creator: Dan is a Manila-based artist looking to help his fellow citizens.
What more can we say? Spend $19.50 and get this sweet tee and feel good about helping an important cause. Just do it. (If you don’t want the tee, you can just donate to Architecture for Humanity. Which is cool too.)
