Now you can add a little extra humor and whimsy to your next painting project, thanks to Canadian designer Simon Laliberté. His unique and creative approach to packaging paintbrushes, called “Poilu” (meaning “hairy” in French), takes two brushes and packages them together in simple cardboard wrappings, printed with sketches of different men’s faces. The bristles, dyed various natural-looking hair colors, take on the role of the men’s mustaches, and the smaller brushes become their goatees. Each paintbrush set is named, and according to his description, the cardboard wrapping can also be used to carry them when wet. Laliberté also suggests hanging them on a paintbrush wall for easy storage – they’d certainly make a fun display in a craft space!
