Without a doubt, the prevalence of iPhone photography is growing stronger and stronger by the minute. While originally, social media and the widespread accessibility of the iPhone – and other mobile phones – seemed to have illegitimatized the practice, many have been catching on to the future trends of photography and art. Luckily, exclusivity is not one of them. This is especially becoming the case with iPhone Photography. As a matter of fact, the most innovative and “mobile” of photographers can now participate in a contest and be rewarded for their talents (see link below). Not only is it cost effective but also goes to show how innovative individuals are becoming with simpler technologies.
That is exactly where Brock Davis, a freelance photographer and designer from Minneapolis, comes into the picture. His work – whether it be art direction, photography, or illustration – is always clever and stands apart from the crowd. Understandably, his aesthetic and approach is true across the board, from his professional editorial work to his iPhone’s Instagram photos.
That being said, his subject matter covers a wide range. From artful shadow compositions (as seen above) to hilarious food art, this iPhone photography by Brock Davis never ceases to impress us. For a little boost in morning inspiration, we compiled some of our favorite and most clever works of his from 2012 and 2013. Believe it or not, all he used was his trusty phone and impeccable eye. Next time you snap a photo for Instagram, you might want to think twice!
